PQASSO works for all sizes
CES' leading quality standards can be used by all organisations, regardless of their size, to improve performance and produce better outcomes for users.
The drive for quality
The climate in the third sector is changing rapidly. With less money available, there will be increased pressure on funding and this will inevitably lead to more scrutiny of voluntary and community organisations and to higher performance demands. Organisations of all sizes will be expected to demonstrate that they provide quality services and manage their organisations efficiently and effectively. Those organisations unable to do this are unlikely to succeed!
How will you ensure that your organisation can compete and survive?
The answer is PQASSO. By using this leading quality system, organisations can improve performance, increase efficiency, evidence their effectiveness to funders and ultimately achieve outcomes for their users.
PQASSO takes a holistic approach to organisational improvement considering all aspects of the organisation from strong leadership and governance to measuring impact and value for money. With 14,000 copies sold, it is the most widely used set of quality standards in use in the UK voluntary and community sector.
Does size matter?
PQASSO was originally designed with small to medium-sized organisations in mind. Now in its third edition, it has evolved to be appropriate for all voluntary and community organisations, no matter how large or small. Today, more and more large organisations are turning to PQASSO as the system of choice and benefitting from its use. Current PQASSO users range from very small organisations with just one employee to national charities employing over 2,000 staff and 5,000 volunteers. Choosing the right approach to quality standards is not about size; the focus should be on whether or not the standards will help improve performance and achieve better outcomes for users.
PQASSO offers something for all organisations no matter what their size or turnover. The three levels offer a flexible approach to developing quality in an organisation. All organisations should aim to achieve Level 1 as a minimum, then perhaps the bigger and better resourced may want to go on to achieve Levels 2 or 3.
Remember, the external pressure on organisations of all sizes is growing. Those organisations unable to demonstrate the quality of their service provision, whatever their size, will struggle to survive!
