This informal tool was developed from CES’ work with funders and following a study carried out on behalf of the National Audit Office. It explores the reasons for evaluating grant giving and urges funders to evaluate in a way appropriate to their circumstances. Section 3 addresses good practice, suggesting key principles, illustrated by case examples. Section 4 comprises the self-assessment tool itself, permitting grantmakers to plot themselves at a level appropriate to their capacity and the standards they are seeking to meet. |
